Our Post proudly serves over 1,400 members and offers a welcoming community for those who share a commitment to service. Membership opportunities are available for The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, and American Legion Riders, each providing unique ways to support veterans, military families, and the broader community through programs, events, and advocacy.

Eligibility 

Each unit has its own specific eligibility requirements. To join, every unit mandates proof of veteran status, which must be provided through an official DD-214 form. You can request a copy of a DD-214 through the National Archives if you are a veteran or next of kin.

 

The American Legion is a patriotic veterans’ organization dedicated to serving veterans, service members, and communities across the United States. Founded in 1919, it is one of the largest nonprofit wartime veterans’ service organizations, committed to mentorship, advocacy, and community service. As of 2018, the American Legion had approximately 1.8 million members.

Membership in The American Legion is open to veterans and current members of the United States Armed Forces who have served from World War II to the present, including ongoing military campaigns. Additionally, there is a separate eligibility period for those who served during World War I.

The American Legion Auxiliary is a nonprofit patriotic service organization dedicated to supporting veterans, military families, and communities. Founded in 1919 alongside the American Legion, the Auxiliary  is the largest women’s patriotic organization in the world, with nearly 600,000 members across 8,000 units.

American Legion Auxiliary membership is open to spouses, grandmothers, mothers, sisters, and direct female descendants of American Legion-eligible veterans.

The Sons of The American Legion is a program of the American Legion, established in 1932 to honor the service and sacrifice of veterans. The S.A.L. is a growing organization with over 375,000 members, working alongside the American Legion and Auxiliary to continue a legacy of service, patriotism, and dedication to veterans and their families.

Sons of the American Legion is open to male descendants, stepsons, and adopted sons of American Legion-eligible veterans.

The American Legion Riders is a motorcycle-based community service organization within the American Legion Family, made up of Legionnaires, Sons of The American Legion, and Auxiliary members who share a passion for riding and supporting veterans.

Membership in the Riders is open to all American Legion members and must have a motorcycle 350cc or larger.

The American Legion provides a welcoming and supportive community for veterans and their families, fostering camaraderie, understanding, and a shared bond of service that transcends differences.

Accredited American Legion service officers offer expert, free assistance to veterans and their families. Membership helps fund Department Service Officers nationwide, ensuring veterans receive the benefits and healthcare they’ve earned through the VA.
